RWBY: Arrowfell is out now!

RWBY: Arrowfell is available now digitally on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC via Steam! This game is based on the hit animation, featuring an in-canon story set during RWBY Volume 7. The coolest part is that the team at Rooster Teeth created original animation for the game to set the stage and tell the story. We were even joined by the original voice cast!

I was in charge of the music and as a longtime fan of the RWBY franchise it was an absolute honor to set this to music. We went wild with the soundtrack too! You’ll find rock, jazz, ballads, silly tunes, and epic fusion among its songs. And a huge thank you to my amazing music team: Peter Reid Jones, Hunter Bridges, Jordan Chin, and Caleb Hyles.

I hope you enjoy! News on the physical release of the game as well as the soundtrack are coming very soon!

RWBY: Arrowfell announced! I'm the composer!

rwby.png

I’m very pleased to finally announce that I’m the composer for RWBY: Arrowfell, announced just today at RTX 2021. Coming to you from WayForward, Arc System Works, and Rooster Teeth, I’ve been at work on this soundtrack for the better part of the year and it’s been an absolute blast as a fan of the show. A honor, really.

The game (a multiplayer co-op Metroidvania!) is fully cannon and picks up directly from the animated hit show and adds the energy that only WayForward can bring to it. I mean, if you played River City Girls you know how cool a collaboration between WayForward and Arc System Works can be. Rooster Teeth rounds out this triforce, with the staff and voice cast of RWBY providing the game’s cutscenes. So, for me, as you can imagine, this is a huge honor! I can’t say that enough.

What has brought this over the top for me is working with friends on the soundtrack. I’ve brought on Peter Jones (who actually composes for the show), Hunter Bridges, Jordan Chin, Caleb Hyles, and some others I’ll tell you about later onto the team. The result so far? Well, pure fun. And lots of jams. I can’t wait to share these.

Stay tuned for more on RWBY: Arrowfell. Out next year!

I composed the soundtrack to WayForward's newest IP, Marble Knights.

I’m pleased to announce today that I composed the soundtrack to WayForward’s newest game, Marble Knights. Available today on Apple Arcade, for Apple TV, iPad, and iPhone, this game will have you…rolling with its puns and wit and swordplay. I had a…ball writing the music for Marble Knights, with my score being a cross of high orchestral fantasy and chiptune. Two real consoles starred in the recording!

I’m so happy to share that this allowed me to achieve a dream as well: working with Studio Trigger. They’re one of my favorite anime makers of all time, best known for titles such as Little Witch Academia, Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, and many others. I LOST IT when I first found out. I was shaking like a leaf a lot of the time. But it was amazing. I can’t wait for you to see what we did.

I started writing the music more than a year ago and it was hard work but some of my favorite pieces I’ve ever written are in this surprisingly huge soundtrack. Every world, event, boss, and situation has its own music — which is how it should be but is an opportunity we rarely get. WayForward was incredibly open and accepting of my ideas. While some of them took a bit of work to figure out it all paid off in the end.

Marble Knights is a very charming, adorable adventure that’s lots of fun solo, but also supports 4-player multiplayer. The voice acting cast is top notch and the script and writing will have you grinning. I hope that my music supports all of the fantastic work that went into it!
