Astral Ascent
The super highly anticipated Astral Ascent 2.0 update is out as of May 1 and fans are already raving about it. It adds four new worlds (with brand new music!), effectively making the game twice as big. There arenew enemies and exploration mechanics, and a fresh boss fight against a familiar face.
We are currently working on a EP release of the new music! For now, the Steam soundtrack has been updated with the new music for free. You can see the updated cover art for the soundtrack above!
My soundtrack for Astral Ascent, Hibernian Workshop’s beautiful hand-animated roguelike, is out today on all platforms. I worked over two years on what basically ended up being a dream soundtrack. It’s more than an 60 minutes of songs that I hope really dig into the incredible action and world-class animation and art the team put into this game.
I recorded in UK, Prague, Bratislava and a few other places, as well as worked with some incredible session musicians to create this soundtrack. Even Emi Evans is featured in the game’s final battle suite. I’m so excited about this game and soundtrack release that I cannot sit still lately!

I was thrilled to find out that my favorite videogame show chose my work for Astral Ascent for an award nomination! I’ve attended every BitSummit show since the first, held every summer in Kyoto, Japan. And several of my projects have been shown there over the years, with some even ranking as special selections for the show. But this is the first time I’ve been nominated for an award. It was an honor to be named alongside such amazing titles this year.
I’m very excited to share that Astral Ascent, the beautiful game by Hibernian Workshop that I’ve been working on for the past couple of years, is now available on Steam in Early Access. This means that a good slice of the full game is there for you to enjoy. Get it here now!
Of course, this game features a ton of my music. You’ll hear new music from me in the above debut trailer as well! I’m so excited to have people finally play what we’ve been working on for so long. But! I’m not done with the music. There’s so much more to be added and I’m so looking forward to writing and recording it. The next step forward happens in May, where a new string orchestra recording session is schedule for some of the music.
